Reining Individual Gold Goes to USA Tom McCutcheon

All week, U.S. reiner Tom McCutcheon has been trying to keep his mount, Gunners Special Nite, fresh and happy. Thursday afternoon, the 6-year-old American Quarter Horse stallion returned the favor by turning in a score of 228 in the individual finals at the FEI World Reining Championship presented by John Deere, held as part of the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. It was enough to earn the gold medal by a margin of five points....

FEI European Reining Championships 2011: Giuseppe Prevosti (ITA) becomes European Champion Senior division – Davide Brighenti (ITA) claims Silver, Rudi Kronsteiner (AUT) Bronze

As could be expected, the senior individual final was to be really tough competition between top class riders and horses. In the end, it was Italy again that claimed its 6th gold medal at this event! Giuseppe Prevosti and Skeets Flamin (owner Enzo Gola) scored a 226.5 after a brilliant ride with fast spins, fine circles and dramatic slides.

FEI European Reining Championships 2011: Italy did it again: Manuel Cortesi (ITA) becomes European Champion Young Riders again, Silver medal after run off for Andrea Iannetta (ITA) with Matyas Gobert (BEL) claiming bronze

It’s unbelievable: with Manuel Cortesi winning the individual final of the Young Riders, he also took the fifth gold medal at this event for Italy. Manuel who had already become European Champion two years ago, achieved a 222 after a superb ride on ML Great Spirit (Bes. Eugenio Latorre).

2011 FEI European Reining Championships in Wiener Neustadt: Second team gold for Italy – now in Senior Division, Germany claims Silver, Austrian Bronze

Rudi Kronsteiner and Giuseppe Prevosti lead after team competition - For the second time at the FEI European Championships, the national anthem of Italy was played: after winning team gold in the Junior division, Italy becam European Champion in the senior division as well with a total score of 662.5 points. Germany claimed the silver medal (656.5) with Austria winning bronze (652.5). France placed fourth (647), Belgium fifth (640), Switzerland sixth (632.5).
